About WheeWait
Live theme park wait times, with a little perspective
Why WheeWait exists
Every theme park app shows a wait time: 45 minutes for Space Mountain, 30 for Pirates. What they don’t tell you is whether that number is good. Is 45 minutes short for a Saturday afternoon, or long for a Tuesday morning? Should you get in line now, or come back after the parade?
WheeWait answers that. It compares each ride’s posted wait with what that ride usually shows at the same time of day, so you can see at a glance whether now is a good moment to ride, and it points out the time later today when each ride is usually quietest.
What you can do with it
- See if the park is busier than usual. The gauge compares the average wait across every open ride with the same rides at this time on recent days.
- Pick your next ride. Each attraction shows its current wait and how it compares with normal; green means quieter than usual.
- Plan the rest of your day. “Best” times show when each ride has usually had its shortest wait later today.
- Compare like with like. Switch between the past 7 days and the same weekday over the last four weeks, since weekends and weekdays behave very differently.
- Keep your favourites handy. Star rides to pin them to the top, and add WheeWait to your home screen to use it like an app.
Where the data comes from
Live wait times and ride status come from ThemeParks.wiki, an open project that collects the waits that parks publish in their own apps and websites. WheeWait refreshes them every five minutes and keeps a history of each day, which is what the comparisons are built from. WheeWait covers more than 100 parks worldwide, including Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Universal Studios Hollywood, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort and many regional parks.
Posted waits are the parks’ own estimates, so your actual time in line can differ. Rides can also close or reopen at short notice; WheeWait shows the latest status it has received.
Independent and unofficial
WheeWait is an independent fan-made site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Disney, Universal, Six Flags or any other park operator, and park and attraction names are trademarks of their respective owners. Always check official park channels for hours, closures and special events.
How WheeWait is funded
WheeWait is free to use. It is supported by a small number of clearly labelled ads, by affiliate links in “Plan your visit” (we may earn a commission if you book tickets or a hotel through them, at no extra cost to you), and by optional tips. We don’t sell accounts or subscriptions, and there’s no sign-up. See our Privacy Policy for how ads, analytics and affiliate links handle data.
